The time has come for the Hookers portion of the Hookers and Hangers Blogfest.
Here are the rules according to the lovely ladies at Falling for Fiction:Hookers & Hangers Blogfest July 16th & July 18th
We all know how important the first and last lines are in every chapter. This blogfest will hopefully get your HOOKERS and HANGERS polished making it impossible for readers to put down your book and leaving them begging for more!
On July 16th, post the first sentence from each chapter.
On July 18th, post the last sentence from each chapter.
Post as many as you like!I've got four hookers for you today from Ripple. So without further ado, here they are:1) I
hate time travel. 2) The
second fist hits flesh, the acidic taste of a Ripple fills my mouth and the
earth shimmers in such quick succession, that I drop to my knees.3) Knox's
words spark a flame in me and I figure, necklace or not, I'm getting out of this
prison. 4) Walking
down the endless hallway, with visions of young love struggling to survive, has
me thinking of the mysterious man named Ry.
I'm headed to check out the other Hookers in the blogosphere. It's not to late if you want to get in on the action either. Just click on the Hookers and Hangers pic above and get yourself signed up.
Gorgeous first line for Chapter 1. That hooked me right away.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant job, Deana. :D
All great, but I LOVE that 2nd one. BTW my latest story's MC is named Knox. What a coincidence. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe third one had me hooked. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThose all grabbed me. Great job!
ReplyDelete"I have time travel." I like that line a lot. It really sets the tone and I am hooked. Nice job. look forward to see your hangers.
ReplyDeleteLove that first one!
ReplyDeleteThe "blog award hoarder" has given you a few. :) Stop by when you have a chance.
ReplyDeleteI hate time travel too! hehe
ReplyDeleteMy fav line is 2.
I like the first opening line best, but the rest also ask some questions that demand an answer.
ReplyDeletep.s. I hate time travel too. Especially when, like me, you get stuck in the past. :)
I still love that first line of yours!
ReplyDeleteLove #2!
ReplyDeleteThat first line is beyond awesome! great job!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these! Excellent tension in all of them!
ReplyDeleteSooooo good! Each one tops the one before so I can't even pick a favorite! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAwesome stuff! I love the way you write, you're so creative!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read this book when it's published!!!! Awesome job, girl!
ReplyDeleteLove'em!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the second.
ReplyDeleteexcellent work! the first line is so telling of the voice and story! great preview!
ReplyDelete4 definitely hooks me! :)
ReplyDelete#2 is really awesome! These are great!
ReplyDeleteGah, I love them all! I think #4 wins though. Love the voice! I can't wait to read this!
ReplyDelete#2 is my favorite. I wonder, what is ripple?
ReplyDeleteYes, I want to know what a Ripple is too, but my fav is #1.
ReplyDeleteWow. I am rather smitten with the first one and the third. Awesome post! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that number 2. And I'm totally signed up for the fest! Whoot whoot!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read #1, I remembered reading your first 250 on a website somewhere... a contest I think...
ReplyDeleteCongrats, and I remember your story looking quite interesting :)
All of them are intriguing
ReplyDeleteThat's a great opening line! I'm a sucker for a time travel story so I'd have to find out more. I also love #2 - so much action to it. These are all great!
ReplyDeleteI like #1 and #2 piques my interest. I HAVE to know what a Ripple is now. #3 and #4 is icing on the cake!
ReplyDeleteThese are all really cool - love your use of language. I love the "spark a flame", "endless hallway", "fist hits flesh", etc. But my favourite is probably still #1, 'cause it says so much and sets the scene (or I think it does, anyway :D). It would definitely entice me to read on!
