Happy Heart Day, Loverlies!
On Monday I announced that I'm turning February, the month of hugs and kisses, on its tail and giving it to you all. My hubs doesn't mind:)
I challenged you on that same day to gush about yourself. And what great gushes they were.
Today, I want to give you the chance to shoot your cupid arrow into the heart of anyone in the writing industry that you respect, admire, want to be like. The choice is yours.
I'll break the ice and get us started.
I have heaps of love for...
My Pied Piper critique pals
My beta buddies Emily, Sharon, Lora and soon to be Alex:)
My agent, Sarah Lapolla
Sarah's other clients who I admire, stalk & totally look up
Agents and editors who take the time to offer guidance
Cupid and her agent connecting contests (as well as all the others who host pitch contests)
Authors who write addictive books that inspire
NanoRevMo buddies
Social media peoples who motivate
Writers conference friends
And last but not least I'm a better writer because of YOU ALL! I'm continuously motivated and inspired by your journeys. You make me want to be better! Mucho LOVES and HUGS!!!!!
Now it's your turn. Who has impacted you in the writing world that you can't go another day without recognizing? Shout em out and spread the word. Let's make today a total love fest!
Can I send an arrow back in time to Mr. Johannes Gutenberg for creating the printing press? I love you, man! Imagine if we had to hire teams of monks to scribe away in a dark cellar somewhere just so our books could be read..... I might be able to fit two or three in my basement but that's it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, agent blogs are a god-send to the author trying to break in. So much information. So shooting a cupid arrow out to those guys!
Shooting a Cupid’s arrow at YOU, Deana, for hosting GUTGAA and giving me my first taste of online contests… and the kick in the pants I needed to *finally* join Twitter! I have met so many fantabulous people and gotten much more knowledgeable about the publishing industry in just a few months. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll shoot hearts at you, too, Deana! And all my blogging buddies. :) You guys are all so awesome and I've learned so much from all of you!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm shooting one at you, too! Thank you so much for GUTGAA, and for mentoring me through Pitch Wars. You've given me that boost of confidence to know that someone else out there likes the ramblings in my head. Happy V Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm joining the "shoot Deana with Cupid's arrow" party because I think you're pretty awesome and I admire and look up to YOU :) So glad we're going to be beta buddies soon!!!
ReplyDeleteOther arrows I'll send out: My fabulous CPs and Betas, who have made me such a better writer that I can't even imagine where I'd be without them! I'd also like to shoot one out to online contest organizers too, because I love that there are people out there willing to help us aspiring authors out :)
Also, can I just send love arrows out to the whole writing community? 'Cause we're all pretty awesome and I love the support we give to total strangers because we want them to succeed, too!
Deana, you are so full of positive energy and talent and kindness and creativeness and determination. Happy Valentine's Day my friend! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI've got arrows here for my CP's, all my real life and online writing buddies, my awesome agent, my husband and fam, and this last one's for you, Deanna! Have a great Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I love this. My arrows are for my husband, my CP's, and my kids, who totally believe that one day my name is going to be in print. Happy Valentines!
ReplyDeleteShooting a cupid's chocolate arrow at you, Deana! One to my fabulous agent, Kathleen Rushall- cuz she chose me, supports me, is working her tail off, and offers tons of advice on my ideas! One to my attentive CP, who doesn't tweet or blog o_O. One to my blogging buddies--love y'all to pieces! One for Angelina Hansen, cuz little does she know, but sometime back last year, I was SOOO ready to throw in the towel, and she sent me one tiny tweet that pretty much saved me. And, last but not least, one chocolate arrow to each of my SCBWI peeps down here in Brazos Valley, TX. Every one of you rock!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that felt great, Deana! Happy Valentine's Day. :))
