Gearin' Up to Get an Agent Blogfest Week 1

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AND...

THE PARTY HAS BEGUN!!!

The Gearin' Up to Get an Agent Blogfest party that is.  I hope everyone is enjoying their hot dogs and fireworks and if you aren't in the USA, I hope you have your own special fireworks because it's time for WEEK 1 and some celebrating is in order.

Because of the holiday for some, we are keeping it simple today by simply signing up for the 'I just had to ask...' portion of the blogfest.

The Rules:

1) Sign up below

2) Take the greatest, dumbest, weirdest...just whatever kind of writing question you have, and post it on your blog Wednesday.

3) Head over to as many blogs as you can that are on the list and answer their question they've posted if you know the answer or can help.

4) Follow as many blogs you want to, make connections, build your platform.

Sound simple enough?  Great, because it is, and what's even better...we've got a kickin' prize just for signing up or commenting below!

PLUS
I will be randomly picking a winner for the Week 1 Giveaway which will be a critique overview of a picture book ($30 value), or an overview of the first 3 chapters of a YA or Mid-grade novel ($55 value) from Margot Finke, published children's book author and critique extraordinaire.

So let's get going!  Sign up below and I'll see you and your questions on Wednesday:)

  5. I wish I could be more active in this. Fortunately I can blog this Wednesday, but it looks like I'll have to post on Sunday or Saturday and just wait.
    *Sigh*
But I'll do my best to participate. Oh summer camp...

McKenzie- That's no biggie, you do what you can. Post when you can too and we will still make our way over to your blog:)

  21. I just a post up last night, but it was actually pondering entering writing contests and sharing work on the internet. I think I'll know her answer, so I don't know if I should use the post. What do you think?

  22. I'm curious, will this be only for MG and YA writers? I write chick lit (for adults) myself and want to make sure there is a chance for something from me.

If not I'll still play along, after all this is just a genius idea but wanted to see if there was anything else.

    PS - I love the hashtag (#GetanAgentBlogfest)

  23. Angelina- Blow us away with your snazz!

Alexia, Rachel- You're welcome and so sweet! I couldn't do the blogfest without you all:)

Theresa- You must have written this fast because I’m a tad confused:) Are you wondering if you should post a question that you think you already know the answer to? If so, I’d say do you want others opinions on it or are you good with what you have? If you want more, post it girl!

Jen- The blogfest if for anyone who writes pretty much. The contest that Kathleen Rushall and Monica B.W. are hosting is only for young adult, middle grade, picture books. This is because Kathleen is only looking for those genres right now. But please do join in the others!

  24. I was saying I put up a post already, and didn't know if it would still work for this blogfest. But I just signed up above. I'll visit the other questioners soon.

I would like the agent's feedback on whether or not she thinks posting work is a good idea. Sorry I was confusing!

  25. Ha, no problem Theresa! It was probably just my frazzled brain.

Gotcha on the question, I'll be over soon to give my input as unhelpful as it may be:)

  26. Deana, you are blogtastic as usual!

  27. You are AWESOME... Thanks so much for putting this together! (I just got back from vacation and am a little late on posting, but I will get to work ASAP!) :)

  28. I just read all the comments sent in for the week #1 of Deana's Blogfest. Great going, Deana.

All those who left e-mail addresses will receive a copy of my kid's new time-travel e-book adventure. This puts characters from my 3 latest books together in a fun adventure.

Thanks Deana, you did a great job.
