Now on to the letter C...
COURAGE
I got this quote out of a fortune cookie and it is one of my favorites:
Real courage is moving forward when the outcome is uncertain.
As a writer these are words to live by. You never know where your words will take you or what the industry and the readers might think of your work. But for me, continuing on is the only real way I will ever know. And that is scary. It is also COURAGE.
What does COURAGE mean to you?

That is a fantastic quote! I need to have that displayed somewhere in my house!
I agree with the fortune cookie. I also think courage is having the strength to hold firm to your beliefs even when everyone is pressuring you to be something different. Great word!
My fortune cookies never say anything as cool as that! Great post.
Off the top of my head, it's the cartoon Cowardly Dog.
Courage takes strength and faith.
I quite like your definition :)
So true! My favorite courage quote is:
"It takes COURAGE to grow up and become who you really are."
Yep. It does. :D
Congrats on the Wildcats win :-)
Courage, to me, is facing your fear - still being afraid mind you - but doing what is right.
Oh, I love that quote! I'm going to have to write that one down.
And, kudos to the Wildcats! :)
Crazy me, but when I first saw the title of your blog, I thought of the Cowardly Lion.
Your quote here is spot on. Many of us move forward in many areas of our lives when the outcome is uncertain. However, some writers balk with an idea or story, while others give up, and others, like us, push ahead.
Such a great quote! Courage in my life means not being afraid to send my manuscripts out there.
Yep, I love that quote. It's so true. There's another quote I can't quite remember, but something along the lines of "sometimes courage is simply telling yourself I will try again tomorrow."
A wonderful quote. Courage is continuing to submit despite all the rejection. :)
I think of courage and perseverance when I think of writers. We keep going even when the goin' gets rough.
For me courage is going forward and doing something even though it scares the pants off you. Or rather, the possibility of failure is great enough to scare the pants off you. I believe I have my fair share of it, though I fall down on this more often than I'd like to admit.
But writing does take courage, that's for sure! Not just paving the way for the story, but putting it out there for others to read too!
"Don't settle." Best advice ever given to me, by one of my college professors no less. It's what I think of for having courage.
everyone needs courage :)
