Warm Fuzzies Week 2 and Killer Character Winners

The Killer Characters Blogfest has come to an end and I have to say every entry was wonderful. Emily and I had a hard time picking winners but finally we did. Thanks to all those who participated!

THE WINNERS ARE....

The winner of POSSESSION is Jen from Jen's Bookshelf!

The winner of a 5-page critique from Elana Johnson is Jessie Humphries from B-Word!

And the winner of the 10-page critique from Elana Johnson is Tasha Seegmiller!

Congrats you all!

And now for...
 WARM FUZZIES

This week, Warm Fuzzies will cater to those of us who are completely possessive over our WIPs and don’t want to give anything too telling away. Instead of posting something intimate about our writing, post a picture or piece of music that describes your WIP.

For those of you that know me, I love to call on my readers for help so I don't know that I so possessive over my work that I don't share, but I do love pictures to inspire my work.

I have two in particular that I use to inspire me with my current WIP, but I chose this one to post:

I'd love to hear your guesses on what it's about based on this picture (and no cheating by reading previous posts:)

Congrats to the winners! And that picture is cool, but I have no idea what it might mean :s. Thanks for the fun blogfest!

Hmmm....

A man stands on the side of a river. He's just proposed to the woman he loves, but alas...she has refused. He drops the ring in the water, the feeling of rejection over-rides any reason. Unexpectedly, a woman emerges from the depths of the river. She's radiant as she holds the ring out to him. She begs for his help. She wants to be freed from the bond that keeps her tied to the river floor. And the only way to do that is to marry a man on the surface. What will he do? Save someone he barely knows? Or try to convince the woman who refused him to give him a second chance?

I realize this sounds more like an opening page at the beginning, but what can I say? That picture is awesome! :)

Congrats to the winners!

Something about ripples in time??

I think it has to be about someone sucked into something. Maybe sucked through time, or into another dimension.

Mermaids? Nemo? Oh, I'm just no good at puzzles. :)) Nice to meechya. I got here from Juliana's blog!

What a delightful blog, Deana! Hmmm, water droplets suspended in mid-air...time stands still? Water reminds me of moving in slow motion. There's no way to move fast underwater. Huh, that's all I'm getting. :))

I'm just so thrilled. Thank you so much.

I'm going with dystopian YA where someone discovers what the creepy "perfect" society is doing to maintain perfection, tell someone and everything starts to crumble, but then the zombies show up and start taking out the society.

Hmmm...too bad I already have my NaNo concept. I'm telling you, that could go places :)

Its a story about a young romantic bloke in Murano Italy, who woke up one morning to find his true love had moved to the USA because her father forbade her to marry an apprentice glass blower, so after shedding a few tears he created a phenomenal aqua dish as a tribute to the distance between he and his love, then he stowed away on a liner bound for San Francisco to once again be with his girl. Sadly he was attacked by a first class passenger who happened to be a vampire whose supply of fresh blood was confiscated by customs for exceeding the 3 oz rule. He never made it to the City by The Bay, but his bowl was delivered to the one he loved by the vampire who felt sorry for the young bloke...

I didn't have to cheat - just read previous comments. *grin* I'm going w/ the ripple effect as well. Bc your picture is, ya know, ripples.

Did you get an entry in BD? If not, message me and I'll comment on your logline/excerpt before Thursday's round. If so, yay!!!

Only because I read your log line in the last post am I going to stick with the ripples in time. Your heroine learns that time can't be messed with or else everything in history changes- as well as herself :)

Great picture. And I'm glad you all had such a good time at the blogfest.

Cassie Mae really gets into these discussions. Great imagination. I happen to know that Arrowhead Aussie derives intense personal pleasure from inserting vampires into every story line since he believes that is what sells right now.

I am going with time travel, a wrinkle in time sort of thing. A love story?

I'm enjoying this blogfest and your photo, but I'm stumped! All I'm thinking is "still waters run deep."

Hi Deana! Congrats to the winners ~ :) And, oh, oh!! I know what the pick represents! (but, i'd be cheating...) Initials: R.E., right?

Is your current WIP a mermaid story? Romance, adventure, drama? Maybe a story by the sea? Or a horror flick that has to do with a creepy lake? My mind is racing! :) Great photo!

Hmm... I think your WIP is about a Labrador Retriever named Jake who participates in competitive dock diving. But one day, he jumps into a portal to the past, back before dogs were domesticated by human beings. Back before dock jumping. Back before Kibbles and Bits. Can Jake survive on his own long enough to get back to the future? And can he get back in time to win the World Dock Diving Championships, thereby ending the long reign of Ivan The Terrible Terrier?

Lovely photo. This could be anything from Olympic swimmers in a scuffle in the water to a fateful drowning or spooky lake story. Intrigued!

Somethng about the picture reminds me of time. Don't know why exactly. Something to do with time travel perhaps?
